About Captain Erik
Hi, I’m Captain Erik, a Wisconsin based guide that is licensed, safety certified, insured; along with also being a United States Coast Guard Captain.
It all started for me when I was a kid. I grew up on the east end of Pewaukee Lake fishing any moment I could. I had a small boat long before I was licensed to drive a car. I worked hard and saved up to buy my first beloved Crestliner 1650 FishHawk at 20 years old. At that young age, my only focus was to fish every inch of the lakes in South Eastern Wisconsin.
Fishing to me was much more than a pastime, I think it was my PURPOSE. I know it sounds funny, but to be successful I had to think like a fish. I became an expert at understanding seasonal migrations, solunar tables and their effect on the bite, why fish eat when they do, etc. I invested countless hours studying the science, techniques, baits, and lakes which yielded magnificent results. I was hooked! (no pun intended)
As I became more successful, I started winning local events and consistently exceeded even my most lofty fishing goals. This allowed me to be fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work with some of the best brands in the fishing industry. It was time to go professional and that became the start of TACTICAL ANGLING GUIDE SERVICE.
I chose the name TACTICAL ANGLING because of my TACTICAL approach and methods. The guide service was what allowed me to pursue my next dream which was to share my knowledge and passion so that I could teach others to catch as many fish as possible. My goal is not only to show you a good time but to truly make this a learning experience by sharing my wealth of knowledge with you. If you read my reviews, you will see that.
From clients that are serious anglers to families looking for a joyful experience, everyone will be very pleased with my generous and cheerful teaching of techniques, strategies, and spots; as well as my tailored approach.
My goal is to never stop making amazing fishing memories with you. My clients and their experience matter greatly to me as you’ll see if you take a moment to read through some of my Google reviews, please feel free to load as many as you’d like.
Lastly, I want to acknowledge my passion about honoring our Veterans and First Responders by being an ambassador with the Fishing For Good Foundation 501(c)3.
Thank you for your interest, feel free to take a look around my site and call or message me to learn more.
As an old Canadian fishing guide once said to my Grandfather and my Dad “It’s a lot more fun when you CATCH FISH.”
Thank you,
